WillmarCommunityGreenhouse-Y.E.S.! Cardinals have gone Green!!!
On May 8th, 2009 a group of Willmar High School students will lead a GREEN fundraising effort. The student group will host a LIVE internet fundraiser utilizing a webcast format---a GREEN technology. They will not only conduct a 12 hour telethon, viewable from anywhere in the world, but will also educate viewers on the Youth Energy Summit project where students and, coordinator and Science teacher Robert Palmer, along with community volunteers have refurbished the old greenhouse on the old State Hospital Grounds now owned by Minnwest Technology Campus.
In partnership with Prairie Woods Environmental Learning Center, the Southwest Initiative Foundation, and the Clean Energy Resource Teams, Minnwest Technology Campus, the Willmar School District, and many other community partners; the old Greenhouse is now a Green Greenhouse!
YES! is a youth program of Prairie Woods Environmental Learning Center (PWELC) and the Southwest Initiative Foundation (SWIF) that uses hands-on experiential learning and energy action projects to address energy opportunities and issues.
